Full-stack development offers incredible control, but it can be also a time-consuming, Slow and resource-intensive process for the business.

From Full-Stack to Power Platform: My Roadmap to Success

I was a full-stack developer and adapted Power Platform over half a decade ago for the business. This is my bit of boring story to share with my followers

I was tasked with building a portal that restricts data access for specific users. Back when Power BI was evolving, using it for row-level security proved challenging. To achieve this, I spent countless hours coding the front-end portal with Angular Framework and ES6, along with API requests to Power BI. Authentication was key, and I implemented OAuth to solve this. However, passing the access token to the Power BI API for data restriction was a real nightmare. Ultimately, after writing approximately 8,000 lines of code for the entire project, including the front-end presentation layer, I was thrilled to present it to the board. Unfortunately, there was a twist. The management has already decided they wanted to go with Power Apps Portals aka currently Power Pages.

So what happened to all my efforts? Wasted. Working for a large enterprise company can be like this. Their priorities are scalability and security, but they also want to minimize the cost of in-house development. That day I decided I would not spend my time writing code to solve business problems for an Enterprise company.

My key takeaways: Full-Stack development pain points

  1. Limited Resources — you need to upskill 100%
  2. Slow Development
  3. Steep Learning Curve
  4. Maintenance Headaches

Power Platform- Your buddy to unlock the gateway to a new world of development

Power Platform Offers a low code /no-code approach that empowers you to rapidly build custom business applications without bogged down in complex programming.

Key reasons to pick Power Platform

  1. Unlocked the Citizen Developers model — i.e. Business people, Administrator and almost any department can build apps…
